With a distinguished career spanning decades as a
professional ballet dancer and educator, Sherilyn Kennedy
has graced stages worldwide and trained countless dancers
who have gone on to achieve remarkable success in the ballet
world.
Her approach combines the classical rigours of traditional
ballet training with a deep understanding of the dancer’s
well-being. Sherilyn believes every dancer expresses
something unique, and her teaching philosophy centres on
nurturing individual artistry while maintaining the highest
technical standards.
Having performed all the major classical ballet roles as a
principal dancer with distinguished companies including
Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet/Birmingham Royal Ballet and the
Royal New Zealand Ballet, Sherilyn brings invaluable
insights from the professional ballet industry to her
dancers. Her training was shaped by master teachers such as
Eileen Ward and Galina Samsova, and choreographers including
Sir Frederick Ashton, Sir Kenneth McMillan, Balanchine and
Sir Peter Wright, grounding her teaching in a rich classical
heritage.
Today, Sherilyn focuses on one-on-one instruction, allowing
her to provide the individualised attention that enables
dancers to reach their full potential. Her commitment to
excellence is matched only by her dedication and passion to
each dancer's personal growth and artistic development.
